Terms of Service — GitHub Rock

1. Purpose

GitHub Rock helps users connect to GitHub, browse and manage GitHub resources, monitor GitHub Actions, download release artifacts, and inspect Android packages. The app is provided as a developer utility and is not affiliated with or endorsed by GitHub, Inc.

2. GitHub account and third-party terms

Use of GitHub Rock requires compliance with GitHub’s Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policies, API terms, Marketplace terms, and any organization policies that apply to your account. GitHub services, account access, billing, availability, and data processing remain governed by GitHub’s own terms and policies.

3. Authorization and permissions

GitHub Rock uses GitHub OAuth Device Flow. You choose whether to authorize the app and can revoke access at any time from your GitHub account settings. You are responsible for reviewing requested permissions and using the app only with accounts, repositories, organizations, and workflows you are authorized to access.

4. Acceptable use

You must not use GitHub Rock to:

Access accounts, repositories, workflows, artifacts, or data without authorization.
Circumvent GitHub, Android, repository, organization, branch-protection, package-signature, or security controls.
Distribute malware, abusive content, stolen credentials, or unlawful material.
Interfere with GitHub, GitHub Rock, or another user’s systems or data.
Violate applicable law, third-party rights, open-source licenses, or GitHub policies.

5. User-controlled actions

GitHub Rock can initiate actions such as repository changes, issue or pull-request operations, workflow dispatches, downloads, sharing, and APK installation handoff. You are responsible for reviewing confirmations, generated files, selected repositories, workflow inputs, downloaded artifacts, and installation prompts before proceeding.

6. Open-source license

The source code is provided under the Apache License 2.0 as stated in the repository’s LICENSE file. These Terms govern use of the distributed application and related services; they do not replace rights granted by the open-source license.

7. Availability and changes

GitHub Rock is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Features may change, be limited, or stop working because of GitHub API changes, Android platform changes, network conditions, account permissions, organization policies, or project maintenance decisions. No uptime, support-response, or service-level guarantee is provided.

8. No warranty

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GitHub Rock is provided without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted operation, or error-free operation. You should independently review important repository changes, workflow files, artifacts, checksums, signatures, and installation sources.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the project owner and contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, credentials, repositories, profits, access, or business opportunity resulting from use of or inability to use GitHub Rock.

10. Privacy and security

Data handling is described in the Privacy Policy. Security reporting instructions are provided in SECURITY.md.

Never submit live access tokens, client secrets, passwords, private keys, or signing keystores through public support channels.

11. Termination

You may stop using GitHub Rock at any time by signing out, revoking OAuth authorization, clearing app storage, or uninstalling the app. Access may be restricted when use violates these Terms, GitHub policies, applicable law, or the security of the project or its users.

12. Changes to these terms

Material changes will be published in the repository and on this page with an updated date. Continued use after a published change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms where permitted by law.
